Innes Briscoe joins CBL Data Recovery

March 23, 2004

CBL Data Recovery (CBL) today announces the appointment of Innes Briscoe as the company’s Sydney Branch Manager. Briscoe will be managing the increasing volume of hard drives handled through CBL’s Sydney facility.

Briscoe, a ten-year veteran of the technology industry has worked in a number of sectors such as logistics and for various software vendors. He has experience in applications, database and network management as well as CRM platforms. Prior to joining CBL, he held roles with Electroboard, Ibhar and CLS.

CBL is a world leader in restoring data lost from any media - including magnetic tape and optical media - through power surges, computer crashes, viruses or human error. Briscoe comments that in Australia, demand for CBL’s services is growing exponentially, especially in the business sector.

"CBL’s Sydney office receives calls from individuals and companies who have lost vital data because of a power surge, virus or malfunction - whether it be hardware or operator effort," says Briscoe.

"Surprisingly, the bulk of calls are from corporations. What companies seem to be overlooking in their back-up or Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) is the volume of business-critical data stored on laptops or desktops.

"For instance, we have just received a project from a leading Sydney hospital that, while having a gold-plated DRP plan, has overlooked one PC that has subsequently crashed. The unit stored information locally - it might, for example, have been attached to a medical imaging device - and no-one in the hospital had realised the importance of backing it up," Briscoe concludes.

Since commencing Australian operations early in July 2003, CBL has completed hundreds of recovery projects for Australian companies. The company is continuously investing in the development of proprietary data recovery technologies. CBL’s most recent advance is Snapbak software that speeds the recovery of data from Snap RAID arrays. CBL Data Recovery can be contacted on 1800 287 225 or www.cbltech.com.au
